QuickAdd Privacy Policy

QuickAdd is a Chrome extension designed to help users save vocabulary from webpages, translate selected text, organize saved vocabulary, and practice previously saved words.

1. Information QuickAdd Handles

QuickAdd may handle the following information when you use the extension:

• Words or phrases that you select and save.
• The original text of saved vocabulary.
• The translation of saved vocabulary.
• The detected language of saved vocabulary.
• Vocabulary topic or category information.
• Information related to vocabulary practice.

2. How Your Vocabulary Is Stored

QuickAdd stores your saved vocabulary locally using your Chrome extension storage. QuickAdd does not require an account and does not operate its own cloud database for your vocabulary in the current beta version.

3. Translation

When translation is required, the selected text may be sent over HTTPS to Google's translation service so that QuickAdd can obtain a translation.

QuickAdd does not intentionally send the webpage URL or unrelated webpage content as part of the translation request.

Google's handling of information sent to its translation service is governed by Google's own terms and privacy practices. QuickAdd does not control how Google may retain or otherwise process information received by its service.

4. Information QuickAdd Does Not Intentionally Collect

QuickAdd does not intentionally collect the following information for its core functionality:

• Your name.
• Your email address.
• Your passwords.
• Your payment information.
• Your precise location.
• Your browsing history.

QuickAdd does not use saved vocabulary data for advertising or personalized advertising.

5. Sharing of Information

QuickAdd does not sell your vocabulary data.

Selected text may be sent to Google's translation service when a translation is required, as described above.

6. Security

Translation requests are sent over HTTPS. Saved vocabulary is stored locally through Chrome's extension storage.

7. Deleting Your Data

You can delete saved vocabulary through the QuickAdd extension. Uninstalling QuickAdd also removes the extension's locally stored data according to Chrome's storage behavior.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when QuickAdd's functionality or data practices change. The updated version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
